How to drink more water without adding sugar

Most people don’t dislike water; they forget it. What works is changing where the water sits and how you count it, not relying on willpower.

Seven habits that make it easier

  1. Keep a full litre where you can see it. A jug on the table or a bottle on the desk gets drunk; a tap in the kitchen gets forgotten. Kerala homes keep the day’s water in a pot on the table.
  2. Count refills, not glasses. Fill a one-litre bottle in the morning, decide how many refills you want by evening, and count those instead.
  3. Attach it to things you already do. A glass after every call, one with every meal, one before you leave the house.
  4. Make it taste of something, without sugar. A squeeze of lemon, a few mint leaves, slices of cucumber, or a seed water such as jeera or saunf.
  5. Give it some colour. A rose-coloured jug is more inviting than a clear one. That, more than anything, is the idea behind Pinkt.
  6. Drink it warm if you prefer. Kerala serves its drinking water warm all year round, and warm water counts just as much as cold.
  7. Check what “flavoured water” adds. Packaged waters and drink mixes often carry added sugar. Read the ingredient list and the nutrition panel.

How much water do you need?

There is no single number for everyone. Heat, activity, age and health all change it, and some medical conditions call for limits. If you have a kidney, heart or liver condition, ask your doctor how much is right for you.

The water-pot habit, in a sachet

Kerala’s pot of warm pink water is a daily reminder to drink that happens to look good on the table. Here is where that tradition comes from. Pinkt brings it to any kitchen: one sachet in a litre of water, and it turns rose on its own. No dye, no sugar, no caffeine.

If you are pregnant, take blood-thinning medicines or have a bleeding disorder, please check with your doctor before drinking Pinkt.

PLANT BIONIX products are food, not medicine. References to traditional use describe how these woods and waters have been used in Kerala households, not an outcome you should expect.
